July 2020 Content

Posted on 26th June, 2020

As we start to emerge from the coronavirus lockdown and have started to return to work, social media updates are more important than ever in informing your patients and customers of changes and updates that your business may be facing.

These were the June images from my Patreon page, Eyes on Eye Care. The images are free to use for your practice or business' website and/or social media pages and you are allowed to add your own logo and details to the image to brand it to align with your business. However, you must not claim the images as your own and they must not be re-sold individually or part of a larger set.

SAFETY MEASURES IN PLACE

Safety Measures In Place

This image can help highlight to your patients and customers that you have their safety in mind, as well as that of your staff. It could be used to talk about what measures you have in place so those intending to use your service know what to expect when visiting your store or practice.

To download the image, right click on the image and select "Save As" or follow this link: SAFETY MEASURES IN PLACE and then right click and select "Save As". The latter will be in the full 1080 resolution.

LIKE US ON FACEBOOK

Like Us on Facebook

This image can be used to encourage patients and customers to like your page on Facebook. I have noticed that this helps increase Facebook page engagement when shared on Facebook and can draw customers and patients to your page if used on another social media channel (such as Twitter, Instagram or YouTube). It is highly recommended that you customise the image to include the name of your Facebook page so that those who see the image can find your page. Remember to include a link to the page if sharing this on another social media channel.

SHOP LOCAL

Shop Local - Green and Yellow

We have all felt the pinch of the coronavirus pandemic, but none moreso than local and small businesses (the inspiration for this project!). This post reminds people to shop local - putting money into local businesses' rather than large multinationals outside of the area. A reminded to shop local, linked to your own pages/website can remind page visitors that you are a local business and you can link your own coronavirus lockdown stories to this post.

WE ARE OPEN AGAIN

We Are Open

As an addition to the previous post, with lockdown easing, more shops and businesses are re-opening. Use this post to help supplement your announcement that you are reopening and to accompany any adjustments that you may be making.

DOUBLE VISION?

Double Vision

Optometrists and ophthalmologists have been continuing emergency eye care services throughout the lockdown period, with symptoms of sudden onset double vision being one of the key emergency symptoms that need to be investigated.  Use this post to talk about double vision, its causes, its impact and why patients should never ignore it.  The post can also be used to discuss the difference between double vision and blur - a common symptom misinterpretation that occurs during history taking.

HAS HAYFEVER GOT YOU DOWN?

Has Hayfever Got You Down?

Hayfever has an annoying habit of making the eyes itchy, red and sore. It is a common complaint of patients attending practice. This image will go well in discussing causes of hayfever, the methods patients can use to help alleviate the symptoms and steps to prevent the symptoms occurring. It is particularly useful in the spring and summer months when these allergies occur the most.

WASH YOUR HANDS

Wash Your Hands A

Wash Your Hands B

There are multiple reasons to encourage good hand hygiene right now, the most likely to remember is that of washing your hands regularly due to wanting to reduce the risk of COVID-19. However, we encourage good hand hygiene when handling contact lenses and using eye medication.  Use these posts to talk about the importance of hand hygiene and link how regular handwashing can reduce the risk of ocular and systemic infections.

That is it for this month. Due to work building back up and the fact that I am studying to do my Independent Prescribers qualification, posting to Patreon may reduce to once a week from now on. I will continue to post a monthly blog post here with a summary of posts made over the month. Please consider becoming a Patron, or requesting for bespoke content, to help to support this project.

Until the end of July, I hope this content comes in handy!
