November 2020 Content

Posted on 1st November, 2020

Thank you again for visiting my website. As many of you know, Boris Johnson announced another month-long lockdown last night and my thoughts are with all businesses out there that will be affected. It is an awful time, but sure many will agree that these actions are required too contain the spread of the coronavirus.

I attach more free images for you to use for your websites and social media feeds. Feel free to use these images as you see fit, again, all I ask is that you do not sell these images on, nor distribute them away from this site - without prior agreement. You are able to customise them for your needs, although please do not imply that I, nor Eyes On Eye Care endorse your business.  Whilst these images are free for use as they are found, I am able to customise these images for you - please Contact Me for a quote.

APPOINTMENT ONLY - NOVEMBER

As the new lockdown restrictions have been announced, it is almost inevitable that we will be asked to maintain our "appointment only" guidance. This updated calendar highlights the month of November and it is likely I will be producing another for December - dependent on guidelines.

REMEMBER, REMEMBER

An exploding firework

Despite safety regulations and technology improving, there are still thousands of injuries each year that are caused by fireworks, with a number that can cause ocular trauma and blindness. Feel free to use this image to discuss fireworks and the risk they pose to eyes.

HELP US GROW

Help Us Grow, Consider Leaving Us A Review

These tough times mean we are all having to work harder to do our daily jobs. Patients may be reluctant to attend with problems and with less footfall, business may start to decline. A request on your social media pages for reviews may prompt those that you have helped into leaving a review - explaining their experience and helping to promote your services. It will also allow you to identify any areas patients are not happy with or things you can do to improve your service for the future.

I WISH I HAD A SPARE

I Wish I Had A Spare - an image of a broken pair of glasses

The first lockdown had many of us fielding calls about lost and broken glasses - many of which were our patients' only pair. Therefore, it is imperitive that we encourage spare pairs of glasses to ensure our patients aren't left without sight during the next lockdown. Spare pairs will aslo help to keep your business going, should footfall drop.

KNOW YOUR MEDICATION

Know your medication - a green background with pills

With mostly urgent and emergency eye care procedures likely during the lockdown period, it is much more important to understand the medication your patients are taking, should they require onward referral to an IP optometrist or an ophthalmologist. Many patients wither don't remember the medication they are taking or forget to bring a list. Use this image to remind patients to bring a list of their medication and the reasons why their optometrist needs to know about it.

WE ARE HIRING

We are hiring - an image with five people silhouettes of different colours

This year has been awful and many have lost their jobs through the effects of the pandemic, either through choice of protecting themselves or through redundancies or business closure. Some businesses have been able to expand due to their roles being less affected by the pandemic and are looking for new members of staff. I know of several opticals that are looking for reception staff, new dispensing opticians, optical assistants and optometrists - alongside colleages trained in these roles looking for a new challenge.

If you are looking for someone to join your team, feel free to use this image to highlight to your social media feed that you are looking. I am able to customise this image should you require. Please contact me for a quote - else it is free to use in its current form.

And that concludes the November 2020 update.  I plan to add the December 2020 update in around a month's time and in the near future, a downloadable catalogue of all currently available images.

Stay safe and take care. It may be a long winter, but we will get through this!

Until December,

Jason
