I rarely watch television when shows are being bradcast live, mainly due to shows not being on at a suitable time or that I am busy doing other things and know I will catch the show on catch-up. That said, I did set a small bit of time last night to watch the BBC 4 documentary series Dangerous Earth. Last night's episode featured lightning.
Dr Helen Czerski talks about the known science behind lightning and as the show goes on, some high speed video footage captures the unique tracing pattern of the lightning bolts. The content also touches upon the phenomenom of "sprites".
